I recently went to the Seattle Japanese Garden in the Arboretum. It was really nice to go to a well maintained garden. It reminded me of a familiar setting in my childhood.
Things I'm reminded of
I grew up in a house with a Japanese garden in its backyard. This is what my backyard looked like growing up (though no where near this large, it was still substantial).
Its nice to go to a place where you can connect with your past self. The garden reminds me of fond memories playing in my backyard as a kid.
Whether its the Koi I would fish for (that I wasn’t supposed to) or the plant types, its good to be able to look back.
I particularly enjoyed the lotus flowers which I never had in my garden.
