We built something at work recently we’re really fond of. Its definitely closer to a toy in some sense, but it can help you in a bind!
If you’re a Seattleite and looking for things to do in an unknown neighborhood (or you just ran out of options in your own), Seattleite Guide is the tool for you.
So, if there is Yelp, what's the reason for this Seattle Guide?
We built this not to be a Yelp, but to be a guide of good quality things. It doesn’t have any of the major chain establishments like Starbucks.
We focused on the unique aspects of each area and the businesses that make it unique.
We wanted only the “Good Things”.
What are "Good Things"?
So, what are “Good Things”?
- Unique in its own right
- Not a major chain
- Doesn’t have locations outside of Seattle (Local and not national)
- Adds to the neighborhood feel
- You don’t feel like you’re in “Anywhere America” (Jamba Juice, Apple, Gap, Starbucks, etc)
- Promotes Culture (Art, Music, Food or otherwise)
- Doesn’t have to be local culture, but the idea is that it doesn’t suppress individuality (like shopping at Abercrombie and Fitch or eating at IHOP).
So its kind of like a hipster's guide to Seattle?
Yes
F*&( you hipster!
F&*( you too!
